Cheater's Cube (2007)
"Cheaters Cube," was inspired by an old Rubik's cube my brother had from the 80's. I noticed the stickers on his cube had been peeled off and moved around. He obviously did this to prove he could beat the game. Hence where I got the idea of "Cheaters Cube." With this piece i intended for viewers to interact and rearrange the velcroed tiles to solve the game. However, no one has solved it yet, because i added a spin. Some of the velcro is reversed on the tiles so only certain ones can stick to a particular spot. It is solvable though! You just need endurance.
Originally this piece was shown in the bitter Wisconsin cold in Walkers Point, for "Art in the Parking Lot." There was a great turn out for the opening despite the near single digit conditions. "Cheaters Cube," has also been shown during Milwaukee's Spring Gallery night at Room 3F in Bay View, WI.
